Nominations for the 2023 InnovateNB Awards are now open
Innovation is all about creating something new, something fresh or elevating something that exists and bringing it to the next level. This spirit is exactly what the InnovateNB Awards seek to honour – the creative, trailblazing people and ideas that are thriving here in New Brunswick.
We are now accepting nominations for the second InnovateNB Awards. Innovators from across our province have been pushing boundaries, opening doors, creating employment opportunities and putting New Brunswick on the map across all sectors; and this is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on them and their work.
The deadline to submit nominations is Monday, July 24th, 2023, at 11:59pm ADT, and the top three nominees from each category will be announced as finalists the week of July 31st, 2023.
The InnovateNB Awards will be recognizing accomplishments in the following award categories:
Emerging Innovator
Diversity Inclusive Champion
Public Sector Award for Innovation
Productivity Improvement by Adapting Technology
Innovation in Academia and Research
Most Innovative Startup
Most Innovative Product or Service
Innovation Champion
Economic Impact Through Innovation
We are also seeking nominations for the 'Ones to Watch’, which is special recognition given to rising innovative individuals who show promising signs for the future of innovation in New Brunswick.
The Mariner Hall of Fame inductee for 2023 will be announced at the InnovateNB Awards on October 12th.
Last year, the inaugural InnovateNB Awards saw over 360 people gather in Saint John to celebrate winners across all above categories.
“Innovation is so closely associated with technology and science that often vital areas like social innovation are overlooked. Being the inaugural recipient in the Diversity and Inclusion category has helped to stamp, not only our training program, but the entire D&I field with a new level of recognition.” says Justin Ryan of the New Brunswick Multicultural Association of his Diversity and Inclusion Champion win last year.
We encourage New Brunswickers to nominate innovators in all sectors and from all corners of our province for these awards. We look forward to celebrating them on Thursday, October 12th in Fredericton, where the winners and their work will be honoured in a unique and creative manner.

Event Overview
The InnovateNB Celebration and Awards are taking place on Thursday, October 12th, 2023, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, hosted by TechImpact, NBIF, the McKenna institute at the University of New Brunswick, Propel and Ignite. The InnovateNB Celebration, is a day-long event that highlights innovation in New Brunswick across all sectors through programming including an industry trade show and recruitment showcase, thought leadership sessions, technical workshops, and opportunities for startups and investors. The day is capped off with the InnovateNB Awards celebrating innovators from across our province.
